Meet  the  Instructors

Dr. Mary Jeppsen

Dr. Mary Jeppsen is a licensed professional counselor and marriage and family therapist with a PHD in Counselor Education and Supervision. She is a Certified Daring Way Facilitator in the work of Brene Brown, EMDR trained, and trained in Emotion Focused Therapy. Mary works with couples and families, and also with Coparents after divorce. She has published a book, Working With Coparents: A Manual For Therapists with Routledge Press in 2018.

Mary has been married 50 years to Mike, and they have raised 11 children together. Their youngest has Down Syndrome so Mary is familiar with the special needs community. Her life experience enhances her professional knowledge.

Shawn Kispert

Shawn Kispert is a licensed professional counselor who works in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She is the co-owner of ReFresh Counseling in Ft. Smith, AR (www.refreshcounseling.co). Shawn works with the community of CSAT ( Certified Sexual Addiction and Trauma) CMAT ( Certified Multiple Addiction and Trauma) and RAE ( Rainbow Advocate Educator) and is trained in EMDR . Shawn also has an interest in working with those affected by church wounding. Shawn is currently working on a book advocating for Families of those affected by Sexual Addiction.

Aaron L. Matthews, Sr.

Aaron Matthews is a Licensed Professional Counselor & Supervisor in Arkansas, as well as a Telehealth Mental Health Counselor in Florida. He owns WholeHearted Counseling in Bentonville, AR (WHC-AR.com) and AaronLMatthews a personal growth and improvement website (AaronLMatthews.com).

Aaron works with individuals, couples, and family groups addressing a variety of issues from depression and anxiety, to trauma and unwanted sexual behaviors. He is trained in EMDR, DBT, CBT, and is advanced trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).

Outside the therapy office, you could find Aaron tinkering with some form of technology, reading, or hanging out with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
